As a plus-sized person and martial arts newbie, any gym or new activity can be daunting and BJJ is no different. From my first class with Hannah and Brandon, I felt empowered and ready to learn more. They are excellent at meeting students where they are physically while keeping the integrity of the skills and techniques intact, then encouraging more. The gym is always clean and comfortable. I appreciate the respectful, team atmosphere any time I step onto the mats. If you’re looking for a great grappling experience, definitely check Inception out.
Brandon and Hannah are great instructors! Whether you’re a beginner or experienced I highly recommend training with them.
I’ve been training with Brandon & Hannah for over a year now. They’re very knowledgeable and patient, which has been appreciated since I was brand new to jiu jitsu. As I’ve learned more, I appreciate the systematic approach of Brandon’s instruction where techniques build on the previous sessions. As far as application during live rolls, Brandon applies techniques in slow motion with superior positioning and attention to detail. I mention this as encouragement to people who are interested in BJJ, but worry they’re not “athletic” (fast, flexible, etc.) enough. You’ll definitely improve in those aspects, but they are not required to enjoy learning jiu jitsu.
